1898/9 German Championship Trophy
It appears to be a pewter/brass chocolate pot with a silver wash
The silver wash has faded many decades ago.
The lid is bent as shown.
17″ tall from the bottom to the top of the finial. weighs just over 5 lbs.
engraved as such/tried to translate the best we could
“Verband Deutscher Ballspielvereine” Association of German Ball Games Club
“Meisterchaft Preus I Classe” Championship Class
also bottom ring appears to have 4 names engraved in it
there is also a makers marks bottom foot
we do not know the history behind this piece, we found it in a old victorian style home here in NJ about 10 years ago. We assume its probably a soccer/football trophy, as translation came up for us as ball games.
